Coffee began to be grown in Kenya in 1800, when it was brought into the country by missionaries. Kenya has over 300,000 coffee plantations, and coffee provides employment for up to 15% of the country's population.

Coffee flavour
The coffee has a medium-bodied, syrupy texture. The flavour is dominated by sweet, fruity notes of berries. On the palate you can detect a gentle, herbal bitterness. The aftertaste is lighter, reminiscent of raisins and dried fruit.
Coffee origin
The coffee plants are grown in the Kirinyaga area within Mount Kenya National Park, in volcanic soil, at an altitude of 1600 – 1900 m above sea level. The coffee is processed using the wet method, fermented for 36 hours and then sun-dried. Hand-picking and hand-sorting guarantee perfect beans.
