General characteristics: Sweet orange essential oil is regarded in China as a symbol of prosperity and happiness. Its sweet, popular, sunny scent positively changes moods, uplifts, and rightly ranks among the most popular oils in aromatherapy for both adults and children.
Therapeutic properties of the oil:
Immunity – bacteria (E. coli), viruses, fungi, inflammation

• In the diffuser – 3 drops orange, 3 drops pine

Tip for an evening aphrodisiac blend for diffusing:

• 4 drops orange, 2 drops cinnamon, 1 drop clove

Tip for an abdominal massage (soothing an irritated stomach, relieving flatulence):

• 5 drops orange + 1 drop peppermint – mix into 15 ml of base oil and rub into the abdominal area in a clockwise direction

Tip for use in the kitchen:

• Mix 1 tbsp of olive oil with 2 drops of orange to flavour a salad or dressing.
• Try orange chocolate (add a few drops of the essence to melted cooking chocolate). You can also add orange oil directly to the dough before baking as a substitute for citrus zest.

Important warning: The oil is phototoxic. Avoid applying it to skin exposed to direct sunlight.
