Components such as theobromine and theophylline interact with the caffeine it contains, resulting in a longer-lasting effect than coffee. Enjoy 120 g of this well-tolerated and easily digestible tea, certified under the EC Organic Regulation by AGRECO DE-ÖKO-012.
Genmaicha derives from the Japanese words 'genmai' for roasted rice and 'cha' for tea. Genmaicha therefore means 'rice tea' and is a traditional Japanese green tea speciality made from green tea combined with roasted and popped rice. Roasted rice gives the tea gentle, malty-sweet roasted aromas that pair perfectly with the subtly bitter note of Sencha. Even those who don't usually like green tea will find Genmaicha a healthy alternative to coffee. The roasted notes are gently reminiscent of coffee and soften the sometimes bitter, tart taste of green tea. Components such as theobromine and theophylline interact with the naturally occurring caffeine, resulting in a gentler and longer-lasting effect than the quick rush of coffee. This makes Genmaicha particularly well tolerated and easy to digest.
