1. Carnosine – the molecule of youth

L-Carnosine is a natural dipeptide (beta-alanine + L-histidine) that occurs naturally in muscles, the brain and the heart. It acts as an antioxidant, antiglycation and neuroprotective factor – it protects DNA, proteins and lipids from damage. 

Why is carnosine unique?

Think of carnosine as the “molecule of youth”, which slows down the biological clock of cells. Thanks to its antiglycation action, it prevents proteins in the body from “sticking together”, maintains the elasticity of tissues and the cleanliness of the mitochondria. At the same time, it stabilises neurons, which contributes to better concentration, memory and mental well-being.

Carnosine inhibits (dampens) the formation of so-called AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-products) – these are glycation products that damage proteins, DNA and cell structure,  and are behind the loss of tissue elasticity, wrinkles and cell degeneration. AGEs accelerate ageing and the shortening of telomeres. In the body, it therefore works as a “time buffer” . At the same time improves brain function, memory and cognitive performance, because it helps stabilise neurons and maintain healthy mitochondria.

Carnosine may slow down the shortening of telomeres and indirectly support their lengthening, even though it does not do so directly like telomerase. Telomeres are the end sections of chromosomes, which protect DNA from damage. With every cell division, telomeres shorten, which is a natural ageing process. When they become too short → the cell stops dividing → a so-called senescent cell (old, inflammatory, inactive) is formed.

Carnosine has an exceptionally strong antioxidant, antiglycation and anti-senescent effect, thanks to which, as we have already said, it protects telomeres from premature shortening. Studies show that cells grown in an environment with carnosine retain longer telomeres and a younger phenotype than control cells without carnosine.

At the same time, carnosine improves mitochondrial function. 

What do studies say about carnosine?

McFarland & Holliday (1994): Cultured human fibroblasts in an environment with carnosine showed slowed ageing and a longer cell lifespan.

Hipkiss (2009): Describes carnosine as a "cellular rejuvenator", which maintains telomere integrity by reducing oxidative stress and glycation.

2. Zinc-carnosine chelate – protection of the digestive system and brain

Zinc-L-carnosine is a bioactive complex representing a new generation of zinc chelates – it combines gut regeneration with cellular protection and longevity. Dosage and composition of Forever Mind

Dosage: 

Preventive dose: 1 capsule once a day, (for body weight over 80 kg, 2 capsules a day).
Therapeutic dose: 1 capsule 2 times a day, (for body weight over 80 kg, 3 capsules a day).

Correct use: 
Take 1 capsule once or 2–3 times a day ( according to the dosage above, taking into account your needs based on your state of health) together with food or immediately after a meal, for a period of 3 months; then it is good to take a break of 2–4 weeks and subsequently repeat the course.

Frequently asked questions about carnosine

What is the difference between ordinary zinc and Zinc-L-Carnosine in this product?

Ordinary pharmacy zinc (such as citrate or oxide) is quickly broken down and absorbed in the stomach after swallowing, or may even irritate it. The Zinc-L-Carnosine form is a special, solid chelate complex. It breaks down very slowly in the stomach, and as a result it can act directly on the lining of the stomach and intestines with an exceptionally healing, regenerating and anti-inflammatory effect. It is literally a "plaster" for your digestive tract.

Why is the "antiglycation" property of carnosine important to me?

Glycation is a process in which excess sugar in the body binds to proteins, thereby damaging them and "caramelising" them. The result is stiffened blood vessels, wrinkled skin and impaired functioning of organs. Carnosine is currently one of the strongest known natural agents that can block this harmful process of glycation.

Why is ubiquinol used in the product and not ordinary coenzyme Q10?

Most food supplements contain ordinary coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone), which the body has to convert in a complicated way in order to use it (and this ability declines rapidly with age). In Forever Mind, we used ubiquinol directly – the reduced, immediately active form. The body no longer has to convert it, it is absorbed incomparably better and supplies energy to cells immediately.

Can I combine this product with Sulforaphane?

Yes, and it is even the best choice for ultimate longevity.
