Hojicha is a Japanese green tea that gets its unique flavour from roasting. Unlike matcha, it has a warm, nutty, caramel-earthy flavour and significantly lower caffeine content. Ideal for evening drinking, when you want a Japanese tea without the stimulating effect.

Preparing Hojicha Higher water temperature than for matcha
Pour the contents of the sachet into a shaker and add water at 80 °C. Shake and enjoy.
Tip: Unlike matcha (70 °C), hojicha is prepared at a higher temperature of 80 °C, which brings out its roasted flavour.
Hojicha comes from the same tea gardens as our matcha in Shizuoka prefecture. After harvesting, the leaves are gently roasted — this traditional Japanese process gives the tea its characteristic nutty flavour and significantly reduces its caffeine content.
