Singing Bowl Set - Five Buddhas. The number five has great significance in almost all Buddhist traditions. It relates to colours, the five senses, the five wisdoms, the five elements, and all of this is expressed together in the five Buddhas. 

Meditation can help relieve physical as well as mental illness. 

The existence of singing bowls dates back to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni (560-480 BC). The tradition was brought from India to Tibet in the 8th century. 

Singing bowls produce a sound that induces a state of relaxation, helping you naturally enter meditation. 

This singing bowl was handmade in Nepal by traditional craftsmen. 

Purpose:

• Harmonising people and space
• Releasing tension in blocked areas
• Have a relaxing and healing effect on body and mind
• Synchronise the hemispheres
• Restore energy in the organs 
• Harmonising/activating the chakras (energy centres)
• Strengthen affirmations

Example of how to use the bowl: When playing, hold the bowl in an open palm or place it on a round cushion. Move a wooden mallet around the rim of the bowl clockwise, or gently strike it. The sound is produced by striking or rubbing the mallet against the rim of the bowl, which vibrates and resonates as a whole. The pitch of the tones and their timbre depend on the size of the bowl, the force of the friction or strike, and the speed at which you move the mallet.

The bowl can also be filled with water or sand to change the tone. Just a few minutes of use a day is enough, as the vibrations are quite strong. The bowl acts as a catalyst, a trigger for change, and the body needs time to balance what was out of harmony. 
We proceed similarly when cleansing a space. While playing the bowl, we walk around the perimeter of the room from left to right. 

When the sound fades, keep listening with your inner hearing. Since the human body is made up of 50-70% water (and water conducts sound 3x faster than air), the vibrations spread throughout the whole body – it's a kind of massage of the cells from within. Tibetans say: "Listen to the sound of the bowl, and when it stops, keep listening. Don't listen with your ears, but with your heart."
