    Black salt, known in India as Kala Namak or sanchal.

    Its colour is pinkish-grey due to its high content of iron and other minerals. Chemically, black salt is sodium chloride with iron, a sulphurous component and trace minerals.

    According to traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine, black salt has many therapeutic properties. It helps with digestion and cleansing the intestines, as well as with bloating and heartburn. It is suitable for people with high blood pressure, as it does not contain as much sodium and does not raise sodium levels in the blood.
