Tulsi or Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum) originates from India. Besides its religious significance, it also has important medicinal significance and is used primarily in Ayurvedic treatment. Tulsi is considered the "queen of herbs".

Regular use of this herb helps the body effectively fight  infections. In India it was dedicated to the god Krishna and protected against death, disease and misfortune. In Ayurveda it is often the herb of first and last choice. In recent years there has been growing interest in the positive health effects of Tulsi.
