Activated charcoal is made from coconut shells. It is intended for direct consumption; mixing it with water gives a drink that contributes to the detoxification of the body. It is a suitable part of every travel first-aid kit for internal (vomiting, bloating, diarrhoea, etc.) as well as external use (insect bites, acne, inflammation, etc.).

Activated charcoal contributes to the reduction of excessive flatulence after eating. 

The beneficial effect is achieved with 1 g, which needs to be taken at least 30 minutes before a meal or shortly after it (COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 432/2012)

Important warnings: A side effect of internal use of activated charcoal is black-coloured stool. Activated charcoal may also absorb medicines and food supplements. We recommend keeping an interval of 2 – 4 hours between taking medicines and taking activated charcoal.

Recommended dosage: Mix 1 teaspoon of activated charcoal with 2 dl of water. The maximum daily dose for an adult is 5 tablespoons (approx. 50 g); for children, half the dose.

Store in a dry place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Suitable for diabetics, coeliacs and vegans.
